Position Overview:

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Distribution Manager and be responsible for overseeing the coordination and management of distribution and logistics operations. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide daily guidance to the Distribution and Logistics teams.
  • Offer mentorship to supervisors regarding staff recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to share updates on departmental performance, policies, and financial outcomes.
  • Design and implement cost-saving initiatives across all Supply Chain functions.
  • Evaluate employee performance and enforce disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Propose and execute enhancements to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish management tools aimed at optimizing cost control.
  • Oversee and streamline the backhaul program.
  • Engage with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to address distribution and logistics needs.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in Supply Chain and Logistics Management.
  • Manage warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper inventory management practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Distribution Manager on budget development and oversight.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company-owned vehicles and stock.
  • Demonstrate flexibility regarding shift schedules and weekend work as required.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Maintain awareness of current market conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or a minimum of five years of relevant supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP is a significant advantage.
  • Proficient in automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on teamwork.
  • Familiarity with total quality management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Physically capable of meeting the demands of the position.
