Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Best Western Fernie Plus Mountain Lodge. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of meals, as well as supervising and training junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train junior staff members in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques.
  • Ensure high-quality food standards are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage food costs.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and specials.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Cook Trade Certification.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
