Position Overview:

The University of Toronto is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the role of Stores Technician III within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. This position plays a vital role in the management and organization of materials and equipment within the MedStore department.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

  1. Efficiently loading and unloading documents, materials, and equipment while ensuring proper sorting and organization.
  2. Delivering items to designated areas, either by driving or walking, while adhering to safety protocols.
  3. Identifying and managing items that require urgent delivery or special handling.
  4. Receiving incoming shipments, verifying accuracy, and ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
  5. Recording received items and maintaining an organized inventory system.
  6. Conducting cleaning and maintenance duties within the storage area.
  7. Performing periodic inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
  8. Operating light vehicles and forklifts for deliveries and material handling.
  9. Providing assistance and information to customers and colleagues regarding materials and equipment.
  10. Communicating with suppliers to follow up on orders and manage stock levels.
  11. Handling sensitive materials in compliance with safety regulations.
  12. Updating the computerized inventory system as necessary.
  13. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Completion of secondary education or equivalent; related post-secondary education is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Additional Information:

This position is classified under the hourly employee group and is a full-time, budget-continuing appointment. The pay scale is competitive within the industry.
