About the Role

BGIS is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities' mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as other mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
  • Work collaboratively with the operations team to diagnose and resolve HVAC issues.
  • Monitor and maintain building automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of our facilities' equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, pneumatic or hydraulic & direct digital control (DDC) systems as well as computer equipment rooms (CER) cooling systems, UPS/ATS and emergency generator operation.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance in a major office building including centrifugal chillers and cooling towers.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair (as per applicable qualifications) mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
  • Provincial HVAC or Apprentice License (ex: Gasfitter I & II license, refrigeration license).
