About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bakery Team Member to join our team at The Hot Oven Bakery Ltd. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for assisting our Pastry Chefs in the preparation and baking of a wide range of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Assist in the preparation of dough, batters, and icings for various baked goods, including pies, bread, rolls, and cakes.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all baked goods meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Staff Training: Train and assist junior staff members in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Supervision: Assist in the supervision of bakery personnel and kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Special Orders: Prepare special orders for customers, including custom cakes and baked goods.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: The role requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy loads, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: You must have a keen eye for detail and be able to work accurately in a busy bakery environment.
