Position SummaryThis role is situated within the Fort Good Hope Seniors' Centre and is accountable to the Day Program Coordinator located in Norman Wells. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of professionals at the Fort Good Hope Health Centre. Responsibilities include the planning, organization, execution, and assessment of culturally relevant activities designed to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of clients.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Understanding of, or the capacity to learn and apply, the Northwest Territories Continuing Care standards, Home Care standards, and NTHSSA Strategic Plans.
- Ability to engage effectively with elderly individuals and those with physical or mental challenges.
- Leadership qualities: the ability to inspire clients to participate in activities and maintain their engagement.
Typically, the required qualifications are achieved through a college certificate in fields such as leisure studies, gerontology, recreation therapy, or community development.
Job Opening DetailsThis is a term position expected to last until July 2025.
Work ScheduleThis role is part-time, requiring 20 hours of work each week.
CompensationThe starting salary for this position is $34.20 per hour, which equates to approximately $35,704.80 annually, in addition to a prorated annual Northern Allowance.
Additional Requirements- Applicants must submit a satisfactory criminal record check. Inadequate checks may result in disqualification from the hiring process.
- The selected candidate will need to provide proof of current immunization status.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License is a mandatory requirement for this position.
