Parks and Facilities Maintenance Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Parks and Facilities Maintenance professional. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks related to our parks, facilities, and recreational equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs of parks, facilities, and recreational equipment, including arenas, libraries, museums, cemeteries, and community centers.
  • Assist with the installation, removal, and daily maintenance of ice surfaces in arenas.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Monitor and maintain arena refrigeration equipment, and perform scheduled cleaning of equipment.
  • Provide assistance with the moving, relocation, and setup of administrative office equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with the operations of cemeteries, ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial policies, procedures, and by-laws.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of Basic Arena Refrigeration course through Ontario Recreation Facilities Association.
  • Over two years' experience in a related field.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department-specific software.
