Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Parks and Facilities Maintenance Specialist. This is a temporary full-time position that will be responsible for providing operational and maintenance services to Norfolk County recreational facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance and repair services to parks, arenas, community centers, and other corporate buildings
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including ice resurfacers, edger machines, and other specialized equipment
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and repairing facilities
  • Assist with the installation, removal, and daily maintenance of ice surfaces in arenas
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of facilities, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, including refrigeration systems and other critical systems
  • Provide assistance with the operations of cemeteries, including grave site preparation and final activities
  • Ensure compliance with municipal and provincial policies, procedures, and by-laws
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent
  • Basic Arena Refrigeration course through Ontario Recreations Facilities Association
  • NSPF Certified Pool/Spa Operator Course through Ontario Recreations Facilities Association (asset)
  • Over two years' experience in a related field
Skills and Abilities
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department-specific software
  • Basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Benefits

This is a temporary full-time position with a salary of $33.65 per hour. The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check, and verification of education.
