Your Role: As the Lead Marketing Strategist at Brooks Sports Inc., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Brooks brand connects deeply with runners and fitness enthusiasts across Canada. This will be achieved through the orchestration of events, community engagement initiatives, and the management of local social media platforms. Your efforts will drive marketing strategies that align with our brand vision and enhance business performance through innovative and relevant concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Development & Community Engagement
  • Design, organize, and implement consumer-oriented events such as race expos, community runs, and marketing activations aimed at fostering brand loyalty among Canadian runners and fitness enthusiasts.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with running groups, fitness studios, and educational institutions to amplify brand visibility for Brooks.
  • Lead the creative direction in collaboration with the Creative Design team and external partners to produce engaging event materials.
  • Oversee the logistics and fulfillment of all event components and requirements.
  • Social Media Management
  • Enhance the Brooks Canada social media presence by discovering innovative ways to engage with the Canadian running community, localizing content, and optimizing posting schedules.
  • Identify and connect with new fans, influencers, and advocates to broaden reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Brooks Running Collective, athletes, and current influencers on social media platforms, showcasing content across owned channels. Partner with the Influencer Specialist to explore new opportunities for Brooks’ social media.
  • Manage social media communities, ensuring that all content is culturally relevant and engaging for Canadian runners.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice that aligns with our identity, channel expectations, and target demographics.
  • Administer the Brooks Future Run Program in Canada by recruiting athletes and coaches from middle schools, high schools, and universities, while identifying local support opportunities. Ensure alignment with US program initiatives.
  • Monitor trending topics, community needs, and audience interests, providing insights to the internal team as necessary.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute local content production, working with talent, photographers, and videographers.
  • Edit and refine photos, videos, and multimedia content to meet brand standards and optimize for various platforms.
  • Analytical Skills, Communication, and Brand Consistency
  • Provide regular updates on program progress and communicate outcomes to the Marketing Manager.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of local marketing tactics, compiling results into reports with actionable insights.
  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Deliver a strong return on investment for brand initiatives that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the US Marketing Team to ensure consistency in brand and product campaigns.
  • Manage key relationships and initiatives with stakeholders to guarantee seamless execution and alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Marketing is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the fitness sector, including event management and social media marketing strategy.
  • Exceptional editorial writing skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with clients and present compelling ideas in group settings.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with great attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in MS Office and moderate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat). Quick learner of new software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of running reports, analyzing data, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including weekends.
  • A valid driver's license and driving competency are required for this position.
