As our practice grows, we are in search of a seasoned Senior Accountant to support our expanding service offerings.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of or currently pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of pertinent experience in public accounting.
  • Proficient in assurance, accounting, and taxation.
  • Strong grasp of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
  • Familiarity with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Cantax, Quickbooks, and Simply Accounting; experience with other software is also advantageous.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a high level of computer literacy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in a work setting.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and robust organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal oversight, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness to work from the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits, reviews, and compilations of financial statements for a range of private and not-for-profit entities.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve accounting challenges.
  • Prepare various tax returns (T1, T2 & T3) along with tax and regulatory forms (T4, T5, T5018, HST, EHT, WSIB, etc.).
  • Apply knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE, ASNPO, etc.).
  • Address client inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Communicate identified technical issues with engagement managers and partners.
  • Establish files for new clients and assist newly formed businesses.
  • Utilize accounting software and provide client support.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with client management.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and strategies to enhance work processes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary will be based on experience and industry standards.
  • Health and dental coverage. Reimbursement for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position.
  • Pay range: $44,376.90-$99,040.07 annually.
  • Benefits include dental care, extended health care, on-site parking, and paid time off.
  • Typical schedule: Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime and weekend work as needed.

Work Environment: In-person work setting.
