Position Overview
The Senior Technical Lead serves as a pivotal technical operator, primarily engaged in managing smaller general sessions or providing support for larger events. This role acts as a crucial link between the technical lead and the technical specialist, reporting directly to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
• Guarantees the seamless execution of events through precise and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of sophisticated audiovisual equipment as outlined in the technical qualifications section.
• Diagnoses technical challenges and resolves issues promptly as they arise.
• Adheres to all company security and safety protocols.
• Safeguards equipment against theft and/or damage during use.
Customer Service
• Delivers exceptional service and aims to surpass the expectations and requirements of both internal and external clients.
• Cultivates a positive rapport with all clients through effective communication.
• Collaborates with the internal team on event solutions before and during events to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
• Understands and nurtures the relationship with the hotel/client.
Training and Development
• Fosters an environment conducive to the growth of technical and leadership skills among team members.
• Provides mentorship and guidance to technical, sales, and operations personnel to enhance their technical capabilities as necessary.
Event Oversight
• Engages in advanced tasks (pre/during/post event) alongside operations team members.
• Oversees and directs other technicians throughout the event.
Equipment Maintenance
• Assists the team with the proper security, storage, transportation, and upkeep of equipment.
• Conducts inventory assessments and forecasts equipment requirements.
Job Qualifications
• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of field experience in a specialized area is required.
• 2-3 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
• Internal candidates must possess Technical 1-Star Certification prior to application. External candidates will be required to validate and obtain their Technical 1-Star Certification within 60 days of employment commencement.
• Internal candidates must demonstrate completion of 50% of hands-on skill verification for the relevant core discipline (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video).
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior management.
• Strong experience and skills in customer, client, and coworker interactions.
• A valid driver's license is necessary for team members in roles that may involve operating company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may apply if relevant.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Hotel
Work is conducted in a hotel/convention center setting with moderate exposure to outdoor conditions and elements such as dirt, sand, and dust. The working environment may range from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be required to work across various hotel locations. Working hours may include irregular schedules and on-call status, encompassing days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must comply with appearance standards as defined by Encore based on individual hotel guidelines or a representation of hotels in that area.
Warehouse
Work is performed at event venues as well as in a warehouse environment. Team members must adhere to appearance standards as defined by Encore in a warehouse setting and while traveling, based on individual venue guidelines or a representation of venues in that area. When in the warehouse, work will occur in an environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and elements such as dirt, sand, and dust. The working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members may use high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components. Working hours may include irregular schedules and on-call status, encompassing days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
