Position Overview

As a Childcare Specialist at Darwin Gadioma, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and safe environment for children in the absence of their parents. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the well-being and development of the children in your care.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in childcare is considered an asset.
Work Environment

This position is based in the employer's home, where you will be responsible for managing household duties related to childcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents.
  • Shop for food and household supplies as needed.
  • Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens.
  • Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.
  • Care for foster children, if applicable.
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
  • Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
  • Prepare infants and children for rest periods.
  • Supervise and care for children during daily activities.
  • Transport children to and from school and appointments.
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of children.
Special Needs Experience

Experience with children who have mental health disabilities is preferred.

Security and Safety

A criminal record check will be required to ensure the safety of the children.

Work Conditions

This role may involve repetitive tasks and requires flexibility and reliability.
