Position Overview

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Fixed Machinery Mechanic is tasked with the upkeep, repair, and oversight of electromechanical systems and building installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate control systems and equipment to ensure optimal building comfort
  • Adjust settings in response to comfort complaints and optimize system performance
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and calibrations of control system components as per manufacturer guidelines
  • Basic programming of control systems as needed
  • Diagnose issues with electromechanical systems and communicate findings to supervisors
  • Perform daily inspections of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems
  • Conduct regular visits to mechanical rooms
  • Maintain electromechanical equipment according to CMMS protocols
  • Weekly checks of fire protection systems as mandated
  • Monitor sub-meter readings
  • Repair mechanical components including motors and filters
  • Ensure cleanliness of mechanical rooms
  • Daily monitoring of Trane and BBP programs
  • Inspect electronic panels on each floor
  • Address general maintenance service requests
  • Monitor water quality for various installations
  • Conduct regular inspection rounds and collect technical data
  • Recommend improvements for system protection and operational efficiency
  • Be available for emergency interventions as required
  • Respond to customer service inquiries regarding comfort issues

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma in Fixed Machinery Mechanics or equivalent experience
  • Ability to pass a medical examination
  • Meet any necessary certification requirements for the role
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, with at least two years in a similar position
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • Valid driver's license is a plus
  • Proficient in standard computer applications: MS Office Suite, Planon is an asset
  • Must be eligible for a credit and criminal record check
  • Willingness to work outside of normal hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
