We are currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer/Coordinator to oversee projects primarily in the Cheticamp area of Cape Breton Island.

Position Overview
The Project Engineer/Coordinator will report directly to the Regional Director, Cape Breton. This role encompasses both technical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring effective coordination with Site Superintendents, Clients, Consultants, and Subcontractors, as well as managing document control and information flow.

Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will include:

  • Preparing tenders and coordinating activities to ensure smooth job site operations
  • Proactively identifying potential issues, organizing work, and sourcing materials ahead of time to prevent delays
  • Developing and implementing strategies to meet or exceed budgeted hours and deadlines
  • Ensuring that the most current construction documents are utilized by Lindsay personnel and Subcontractors
  • Establishing project schedules and participating in site meetings

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or Construction Management
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced and evolving work environment
  • Capability to interpret and understand construction drawings
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management skills
  • A reliable vehicle with valid registration, insurance, and a driver's license
  • Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills
