Nutrition Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Services Manager to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of Nutrition and Food Services operations within multiple sites of the Eastern Zone.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with a proven track record of managing healthcare operations and leading teams. You will be responsible for championing the integration of nutrition care and food service, and for providing nutrition care services to patients, residents, and clients in both institutional, ambulatory, and community settings.
You will also be responsible for collaborating on provincial initiatives and standards, such as the implementation of the Nova Scotia Health Healthy Eating Policy at applicable sites. Additionally, you will work closely with our NFS leadership team to develop and implement new initiatives.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and completion of an accredited dietetic internship program. You should also have membership in a professional association, such as Dietitians of Canada, and completion of Advanced Food Safety Training.
Five years' progressive management experience in healthcare as a dietitian, in addition to clinically related practice experience, is required. You should also have experience in scope of practice for dietitians, dietetic technicians, and food service supervisors, and food service management.
Ability to interpret statistical data, and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks, is essential. You should also be able to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships, and have extensive experience in financial planning and human resource management.
Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, policies, and standards is also required. Competencies in other languages, such as French, are an asset.
HoursThis is a full-time long assignment, with 75 hours biweekly. Travel to various sites may be required, and the assignment is approximately for months, with dates subject to change.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $40.15 - $53.35 hourly, and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
