The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and food services, with experience in leadership and operations. They will be responsible for supervising front-line employees, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and acting as an ambassador for the Nutrition and Food Services department. A key aspect of this role is to support the management team in carrying out administrative and operational functions within designated areas and ensuring compliance with the department's strategic plan.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees, management, and other stakeholders. They will also possess a strong commitment to patient safety and quality improvement, with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions to improve processes and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise front-line employees and ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Act as an ambassador for the Nutrition and Food Services department
  • Support the management team in carrying out administrative and operational functions
  • Ensure compliance with the department's strategic plan
  • Identify and implement effective solutions to improve processes and outcomes

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Nutrition post-secondary degree (preferred)
  • Red Seal Cook Certification is an asset
  • Completion of an Advanced Food Safety Certification and HACCP Training
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in food service or clinical nutrition management or leadership and operations
  • Experience in a healthcare setting and unionized environment preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in customer-focused food service operations
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, staff management, and coaching in a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated accountability, conflict resolution skills, and positive change management orientation

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rate: $29.90 - $37.38

Working Conditions:

This is a Casual Relief position, with hours varying depending on the needs of the department. The successful candidate must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
