Position Overview:

The Senior Network SONiC Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical assistance and conduct maintenance on network systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers and switches.
  • Monitor services and generate reports, focusing on risk management and compliance.
  • Investigate and implement new solutions and enhancements for continuous improvement.
  • Manage the acquisition, provisioning, and decommissioning of related hardware and software.
  • Document change requests formally and oversee the change management process.
  • Coordinate with external service providers to ensure service quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams, acting as their advocate.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teamwork capabilities.
  • Utilize negotiation and conflict resolution skills as needed.
  • Plan and manage projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Understand IT requirements for comprehensive solutions, including security and disaster recovery.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Windows OS and familiarity with Linux and other operating systems.
  • Have a solid grasp of networking principles.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of infrastructure service management tools and processes.
  • Implement end-point security management tools effectively.
  • Understand the lifecycle management of IT infrastructure assets.
  • Design local and wide area networks, managing projects of varying complexity.
  • Have a thorough understanding of IP, MPLS, WAN, Ethernet, and wireless networking technologies.
  • Experience with Sonic Operating System on various hardware platforms.
  • Knowledge of data center design and security principles.
  • Engage with emerging technologies and industry standards.
  • Experience with Cisco 6500 and Nexus 5000 is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in an enterprise data center environment.
  • Cloud migration experience is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is conducted in a standard office environment.
  • Extended periods of sitting and visual concentration on computer screens are required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in network design and management.
  • 2 to 4 years in a technical analyst or network specialist role with Cisco products.
  • Experience with Sonic Operating System and IP networks.

Education:

A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
