Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at THE WINGS ON FLAME RESTAURANT LTD.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Carry out tasks such as carrying and replacing linen, loading buspans and trays, scouring pots and pans, and packaging take-out food.
- Portion and wrap foods, stock refrigerators and salad bars, and receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash, sharpen kitchen knives, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
Physical Demands- The ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) is required.
- Excellent client focus and team player skills are essential.
- The ability to support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees is a plus.
- Recruiting and supporting newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster is also an asset.
- Supporting newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition and offering mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees are highly valued.
- Offering mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth and Indigenous workers is also an asset.
- Supporting visible minorities through mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees is highly valued.
- This is a permanent position.
- The work language is English.
- The hours of work are 35 hours per week.
