Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Dean, this role is pivotal in supporting the initiatives of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The primary responsibilities include orchestrating and enhancing the development and execution of training programs for CTL staff, faculty orientations, and associated resources. This position collaborates with Project Planners to formulate actionable strategies based on data analysis and ensures effective communication between academic departments and Teaching & Learning for quality assurance purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees CTL projects and activities, including the orientation and onboarding processes for CTL staff and program faculty, along with resource sharing and online presence.
  • Acts as a liaison between CTL and other program personnel concerning training and curriculum development initiatives.
  • Evaluates administrative aspects of activities and provides relevant guidance as necessary.
  • Formulates strategies to enhance information technology education development and execution.
  • Conducts data analysis and prepares comprehensive reports, including actionable recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborates with Project Planners to create, monitor, and evaluate action plans aimed at improvement.
  • Offers research, advice, and coordination for special projects, including establishing effective reporting frameworks, developing summaries, and analyzing complex information.
  • Investigates and identifies best practices, initiating collaborative efforts for effective outcomes and recommendations.
  • Provides assistance to the LMS Administrator during their absence or peak periods as required.
  • Facilitates understanding among operational, administrative, faculty, and student employees regarding the use of software applications and the LMS utilized by the institution.
  • Demonstrates software functionality through presentations, creating detailed guides for software usage.
  • Delivers ongoing technical support for the learning management system and other educational technologies.
  • Offers relief support for basic office functions (e.g., email monitoring) during the Administrative Assistant's absence.
  • Provides project assistance as needed for institutional initiatives.
  • Supports and leads student focus groups and surveys as necessary.
  • Contributes actively to the vision, mission, and objectives of the institution, addressing the aspirations and needs of learners and communities.
  • Fosters a positive work environment and communicates professionally, demonstrating mutual respect with students and colleagues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Dean or designated authority.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in project management, business, or education.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within established timelines.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage resources for project completion.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, integrate, and summarize complex information, providing accurate and timely advice.
  • Skilled in writing clear, structured reports with well-founded recommendations.
  • Proficient in relevant technological tools, including word processing, database management, spreadsheets, email, internet, and research technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices, with attention to detail essential for planning and executing special projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of addressing a variety of unique conditions through analytical thinking and information development.
  • Experience with learning management systems and various online learning modalities is advantageous.
  • Effective group facilitation skills; training or certification in group facilitation is a plus.
  • Exhibits strong initiative and judgment in professional environments.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness under pressure.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Exemplifies excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
