Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Dean, this role is pivotal in enhancing the operations of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The primary responsibilities include orchestrating and facilitating the creation and execution of CTL staff training, faculty orientations, and associated resources. This position collaborates with relevant Project Planners to devise action plans based on collected data and ensures effective communication between academic departments and Teaching & Learning for quality assurance purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees CTL projects and initiatives, including the orientation and onboarding of CTL personnel and program faculty, along with resource sharing and online presence.
  • Engages with CTL and other program staff regarding training and curriculum development initiatives.
  • Evaluates administrative aspects of activities and provides necessary guidance.
  • Formulates strategies to enhance information technology education development and execution.
  • Analyzes data and generates comprehensive reports, including actionable recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborates with Project Planners to create, monitor, and evaluate action plans for improvements.
  • Conducts research and provides coordination for special projects, including establishing effective reporting frameworks, compiling summaries, and analyzing complex data.
  • Identifies and researches best practices, initiating collaborative efforts for optimal results and recommendations.
  • Assists the LMS Administrator during their absence or peak periods as needed.
  • Facilitates the understanding of software applications and LMS utilized by the institution among operational, administrative, faculty, and student employees.
  • Demonstrates software functionalities through presentations, creating detailed guides for user engagement.
  • Offers ongoing technical support for the learning management system and other educational technologies.
  • Provides basic office operation support when the Administrative Assistant is unavailable.
  • Contributes project support for institutional initiatives as required.
  • Facilitates student focus groups and surveys as necessary.
  • Engages actively in fulfilling the vision, mission, and objectives of the institution while addressing the aspirations and needs of learners and communities.
  • Promotes a constructive work environment and communicates professionally, demonstrating mutual respect with students and colleagues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Dean or designated authority.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in project management, business, or education.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within established timelines.
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively utilize all resources for project completion.
  • Strong skills in gathering, analyzing, integrating, and summarizing diverse materials, providing accurate and timely information and advice.
  • Ability to produce clear, structured, and articulate reports with well-founded recommendations.
  • Proficient in relevant technological tools, including word processing, database management, spreadsheets, email, internet, and research technologies.
  • Good understanding of office procedures and practices with attention to detail necessary for planning, implementing, and maintaining special projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of addressing a variety of unique situations through analytical thinking and innovative information development.
  • Experience with learning management systems and various online learning modalities is advantageous.
  • Effective group facilitation skills are essential; training or certification in group facilitation is a plus.
  • Exhibits strong initiative and sound judgment in professional contexts.
  • Ability to organize and manage workload independently.
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness under pressure.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
