This role as a Junior Statistical Analyst will contribute to a research initiative focused on enhancing our comprehension of young individuals (ages 12 to 25) facing simultaneous challenges related to substance use and mental health.
Key Responsibilities

- Prepare presentations and manuscripts for dissemination.
Job Summary
The Junior Statistical Analyst will apply fundamental and moderately advanced statistical techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret statistical data across various research projects. This position involves performing statistical research and analysis, compiling, and interpreting statistical records and reports. The analyst will operate under general supervision, utilizing discretion to address diverse inquiries and challenges.
Accountabilities
- Employ established statistical methodologies to analyze and interpret data.
- Determine suitable statistical analysis methods and apply techniques to interpret findings.
- Compile and analyze data to identify trends and fluctuations.
- Develop forms and procedures for data collection and compilation.
- Implement administrative protocols for data gathering.
- Oversee the design and upkeep of databases and related programs for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Document new designs, coding, and modifications.
- Conduct data audits and summarize findings.
- Coordinate the collection, entry, verification, analysis, and reporting of data.
- Provide guidance on data collection and analysis for research initiatives.
- Review literature relevant to the project area and assess its applicability.
- Facilitate meetings and prepare recommendations on statistical strategies.
- Ensure the confidentiality of study data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in data management using statistical software (preferably SAS or R).
- Strong foundation in quantitative methods and analysis, particularly with complex population surveys.
- Familiarity with systematic reviews.
- Expertise in quantitative analysis techniques, including regression modeling and psychometrics.
The position offers flexible weekly hours ranging from 14 to 35 hours, with a schedule determined by the supervisor and the successful candidate. The work environment is hybrid, combining on-campus and remote responsibilities.
