Cementing Equipment Operator

Reporting to the Station Manager and under the guidance of the Supervisor, the Cementing Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of field equipment, performing shop upkeep, and supporting the operational aspects of the business. This role collaborates closely with Greenhands and Bulk Drivers and is classified as a safety-sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and operate a cementing unit for each job assignment.
- Execute proper on-site rigging procedures, including assembly and disassembly, mixing, pumping, pressure testing, and final inspections, while assisting with site cleanup.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all gauges on the operator panel.
- Monitor pump pressure, rates, densities, and volumes during operations; report any issues requiring attention in the hazardous zone.
- Conduct pre-departure inspections and function tests on equipment, ensuring all components are operational.
- Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs, including routine servicing and inspections, and submit documentation before the end of each shift.
- Perform maintenance on field equipment as necessary, including inspections and repairs.
- Assist in the preparation of jobs and reporting of incidents as directed by the Supervisor.
- Uphold and enforce company safety protocols and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Foster strong relationships with both internal and external clients to support company values and objectives.
- Establish and maintain procedures to ensure a high level of service delivery.
- Operate well servicing equipment to and from job sites as required.
- Work with management to pursue obtaining a Class 1 (Canada) / CDL (U.S.) license with company support when qualified.
- Engage in training and development initiatives.
- Perform other general duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg, bending, standing, gripping, sitting/driving, walking, and climbing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended durations.
- Availability for a 24-hour on-call schedule on a 15 days on, 6 days off rotation, maintaining fitness for duty at all times.
- Capability to work in congested or confined spaces, with exposure to loud noises and vibrations.
- Legally eligible to work in the country of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
- Interest in obtaining a Class 1 (Canada) / Class A CDL (U.S.) license and advancing in field operations.
- Experience in oil and gas field operations.
- Familiarity with rigging procedures, mixing, pumping, pressure testing, and site cleanup.
- Knowledge of equipment and components, particularly pumping equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and necessary documentation.
- Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and positive attitude.
- Adaptability to change and flexibility in work assignments.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Initiative and results-oriented mindset.

- Experience in primary and remedial cementing operations.
- Proficiency in operating Twins.
- Experience in customer interactions.
