Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer/Project Coordinator to oversee projects primarily in the Cheticamp region of Cape Breton Island. Reporting directly to the Regional Director, Cape Breton, this role encompasses both technical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring seamless coordination among Site Superintendents, Clients, Consultants, and Subcontractors, along with managing document control and information dissemination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tenders and coordinate activities to optimize jobsite efficiency
  • Anticipate challenges, organize work, and procure materials ahead of time to prevent delays
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed budgeted hours and deadlines
  • Ensure that the most current construction documents are utilized by Lindsay personnel and Subcontractors
  • Establish project timelines and participate in site meetings

Qualifications
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficient in computer applications, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management skills
  • Possession of a reliable vehicle with valid registration, insurance, and driver's license
  • Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills
