Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager is a key member of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) team, responsible for leading strategic procurement initiatives and driving business value. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes, category management, and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with WSIB's business objectives.
  • Manage and optimize procurement processes, including sourcing, contract management, and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement-related matters, including contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and coaching to ensure their success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and practices.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a related field, such as business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management, with a focus on category management and procurement operations.
  • Proven track record of driving business value through procurement initiatives, including cost savings and process improvements.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of procurement professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
