Chaplain - Part Time

Overview

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a compassionate and skilled Chaplain to provide spiritual care and support to our residents, families, and staff. As a Chaplain, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that respects the diversity of our community.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide spiritual care and support to residents, families, and staff, ensuring access to spiritual, religious, and cultural practices and rituals.
  • Provide spiritual care and counseling, and make referrals to other team members or community partners as needed.
  • Lead prayer groups, study groups, and church services, and plan celebrations and events for all faiths represented.
  • Participate in special bereavement functions, such as memorial services.
  • Document care planning, goal setting, and progress notes.
  • Coordinate and evaluate pastoral service providers.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a degree or diploma in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Education, or a combination of spiritual education.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation for well and cognitively impaired individuals.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience providing spiritual care in a long-term care setting is an asset.
