About the Role

Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the Medical Imaging Technologist is tasked with delivering patient-focused care while proficiently operating radiological and accessory equipment. This role involves executing a range of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures that utilize ionizing radiation, adhering to the ALARA principle, and maintaining a responsive and responsible approach to patient care. Effective communication within a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary environment is essential, as is fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

Occasional travel to other sites may be necessary.



Qualifications

We welcome applications from candidates who possess the following:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiological Technology program
  • Certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP)
  • Previous experience is advantageous
  • Qualification to operate in multiple Diagnostic Imaging modalities is a plus
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks while working independently
  • Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position
  • Demonstrated initiative and teamwork skills within inter-professional settings
  • Ability to comprehend technical language for reviewing manuals and participating in discussions
  • Competency in additional languages is an asset, with a preference for French

Work Schedule
  • Casual relief position
  • Shift work required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holiday coverage
  • Rotation to other areas within Central Zone Diagnostic Imaging may be necessary


Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $37.54
