MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our MRI suites, including instruction of students and direction of staff. You will ensure that patient requisitions meet departmental standards and correlate clinical history with examinations to be performed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform imaging procedures and patient care duties
- Assume responsibility for complex procedures designated via indirect supervision of the radiologist
- Ensure technologist, patients, co-workers, and the public are adequately protected at all times
- Collaborate with hospital personnel, maintenance, and cleaning staff to ensure smooth operations
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced MRI Technologist who possesses the following qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) MRI exam and certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Previous MRI experience preferred
- Demonstrate competency in I.V. insertion
- Frequent independent decisions assessing diagnostic results
- Ensure competency and maintain ongoing interest in updating knowledge on new equipment and procedures
- Practice excellent patient care and demonstrate courtesy, kindness, and understanding
- Operate computer system in regard to patient information
- Highly adaptable professional who can think critically and thrive as a member of a dynamic team
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
What We Offer
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- Call and shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends
