We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Healthcare Support Specialist to become a vital part of our esteemed medical facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate closely with a team of certified healthcare professionals.
  • Execute clinical tasks under the guidance of a physician.
  • Assist healthcare providers in examination areas.
  • Guide patients to examination rooms, conduct interviews, record vital signs such as weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and accurately document all findings in the patient's electronic health record.
  • Administer allergy shots, vitamin B12 injections, and other immunizations that patients can receive without waiting for their primary care physician.
  • Prepare electronic health records for physician review prior to patient consultations.
  • Update physicians with relevant patient information before consultations.
  • Perform specific clinical procedures, including blood draws and wart removal.
  • Manage telephone communications and provide responses to inquiries from patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
  • Direct patients requiring urgent care to appropriate resources.
  • Contact patients with abnormal lab results to establish follow-up plans based on urgency.
  • Welcome visitors to the office and oversee patient intake processes.
  • Register new patients and maintain accurate patient charts.
  • Enter patient demographics into the database.
  • Handle incoming calls, ensuring they are routed appropriately.
  • Schedule, confirm, and adjust patient appointments as necessary.
  • Organize and digitize patient records.
  • Monitor and manage office supplies and inventory.
  • Ensure patient information is current and accurate.
  • Facilitate patient referrals to specialized services.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  • Understanding of the healthcare sector and various medical specialties.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Proficient in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Experience working in an electronic medical record (EMR) environment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
  • Outstanding customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain organized systems to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Proficient in phlebotomy and injection administration.
  • Experience with Oscar EMR is a plus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Background in healthcare (e.g., doctor or nurse).
  • Certification as a medical assistant is advantageous.
  • Training in electronic medical records.
