Position Overview

Reporting to the Team Leader and collaborating with nursing staff as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Life Skills Facilitator aids clients with mental, developmental, and/or physical challenges to achieve successful community living. This role involves working closely with the Mental Health team to implement tailored psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) and recovery strategies that cater to the client's specific needs. Responsibilities include providing daily physical, emotional, and social support, personal life skills training, and advocacy; assisting clients in daily living tasks such as light housekeeping, personal laundry, and collaborative meal preparation; and offering transportation services for events, outings, appointments, and programs.

The Life Skills Facilitator is expected to engage clients and their support networks as equal partners in service planning and evaluation.


Work Schedule: Days, Evenings, 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00 (Rotating)

Qualifications

  • Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker educational program, with two (2) years of recent, relevant experience working with individuals facing severe and persistent mental health challenges, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current CPR Level C and Food Safe certifications.
  • Valid Class V BC Driver's License.
