Position Overview:
Reporting to the Principal, the Analyst will join the HOOPP Real Estate Investment Management team, responsible for managing all HOOPP Real Estate investments globally, including acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio and asset management, developments, and debt. The Analyst will assist the Real Estate Investment team with its operations across North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and analyze potential investments, developments, dispositions, partnerships (including joint ventures, club deals, and funds), as well as tax and financial structures utilizing Excel, Argus, and various other modeling tools.
- Support the due diligence process and the preparation of investment reports and presentation materials.
- Conduct comprehensive macro and micro market research on existing or emerging sectors and markets.
- Monitor and forecast portfolio performance and risk metrics to aid the team in making informed portfolio management decisions.
- Assist the team with various portfolio and asset management analyses, including underwriting owned assets, lease evaluations, disposition assessments, and redevelopment analyses.
- Stay updated on new trends in the industry and evaluate their potential impacts on the real estate portfolio.
- Collaborate with finance staff on matters related to financial accounting and reporting concerning real estate investments.
- Engage in additional analyses and projects as required.
- Participate in real estate functions, conferences, and property tours.
Qualifications:
- Highly developed Excel modeling skills.
- Minimum educational requirement of an undergraduate degree, preferably in business, real estate, finance, planning, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the commercial real estate sector, focusing on investment, development, or asset management.
- Strong analytical skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness are crucial, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience with Argus is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A positive and cooperative attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, complemented by excellent oral and written communication and presentation abilities.
