We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing commercial-related legal advice and guidance to our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide legal advice and guidance on contractual compliance, contract drafting and interpretation, and employment matters
- Draft, negotiate, and manage procurement and Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
- Manage sub-contractor relationships and resolve any related claims
- Assess and mitigate risk in accordance with our organization's risk profile and tolerance
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Communicate with external legal counsel as needed
- Stay up-to-date on changes in related areas of legislation
- Minimum 3 years' experience practicing law in a large private practice firm and/or as an in-house counsel for a large project development organization
- LLB or JD and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Experience with contract preparation and negotiation, employment and sub-contractor contracts
- Previous work experience in a commercial environment is an asset
- Experience in a P3 (Public Private Partnerships) environment is an asset
- Ability to think strategically and provide efficient legal advice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
