About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our software development team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for managing the entire software life cycle, contributing to the development of our core software stack, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Software Life Cycle Management: Manage the entire software life cycle, including CI/CD pipelines, QA systems, productization, and packaging.
  2. Core Software Stack Development: Contribute to the development of our core software stack using Rust.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead a growing team of engineers and direct reports, providing hands-on coaching, training, and mentoring.
  4. Project Prioritization: Lead individual project priorities and deadlines, and provide feedback on other projects and team milestones.
  5. Technical Expertise: Be technically hands-on and dive into coding, troubleshooting, and debugging, and developing automated solutions.
Requirements
  1. Education: Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Experience: 15+ years of experience as a back-end software engineer with DevOps experience, 10+ years of experience in Linux, and 10 years of experience leading and mentoring a technical team.
  3. Skills: Solid understanding of software architecture and systems-level engineering, experience with distributed systems and databases, and great communication skills, both written and verbal.
