Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Reliability Group Manager, the electromechanician will perform inspection and preventive and corrective maintenance operations on equipment. They must also communicate effectively in case of detection of a risk that may disrupt the proper functioning of the installation. They are responsible for directing and coordinating the work of technicians. They ensure that safety rules at work are respected at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of tasks from their team;
  • Ensure the follow-up of procedures and work instructions;
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various conveyor belts: mechanical adjustment, motor and reducer verification, belt cleaning, lubrication of roller bearings, greasing, oil replacement, etc.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of mechanical equipment, including cleaning, painting, and other preventive measures;
  • Perform tasks related to building and equipment maintenance, adjustment, and repair;
  • Perform mechanical and electrical work, such as motor and reducer verification, belt inspection, roller and bearing inspection, oil change, etc.
  • Read, understand, and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams of systems, conveyor belts, tilting platforms, and transport platforms;
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures by identifying the cause of the problem and proposing definitive solutions;
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement to improve system reliability by introducing suggestions and technical improvement projects and health and safety;
  • Work closely with operations and automation teams;
  • Recommend to their immediate supervisor any modifications aimed at improving the protection and functioning of systems;
  • Notify the Maintenance Reliability Group Manager of any anomalies in the functioning of installations;
  • They also warn the Maintenance Reliability Group Manager if they feel the need to call on additional skills during the execution of a task;
  • Work closely with operations;
  • Apply health and safety rules and respect good practices during task execution;
  • Document maintenance work according to established procedures (fill in work orders in the GMAO system).
  • Perform any other related tasks requested by their immediate supervisor or required by their functions.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in Canada;
  • Diploma in professional studies in electromechanics or mechanics;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an electromechanician;
  • Available to work on rotating shift schedules (day, evening, and night);
  • Class C license (asset).
