The YMCA of Simcoe-Muskoka is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Director of YMCA Camp Kitchikewana. This is a year-round, full-time role that requires the successful candidate to be responsible for the operation of the 6-month overnight camp with an operational budget of $2 million.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that camp operations and programs are safe and of high quality, meeting and maintaining relevant legislation, standards, and frameworks.
- Provide leadership to YMCA philanthropic efforts, including annual giving, capital giving, and major gifts.
- Hire, support, train, coach, and supervise a team of 80 seasonal employees.
- Recruit and book spring and fall user groups, including schools and retreats.
- Work with the Assistant Camp Directors and Community Care Team to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, Parks Canada, volunteers, program partners, vendors, and others.
- Participate in YMCA of Simcoe-Muskoka association-wide initiatives and committees as required.
- Diploma or degree in Recreation & Leisure, Outdoor Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years supervisory experience in an overnight camp setting.
- Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED defibrillator training.
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification.
- G driver's license and operational vehicle.
- Small Drinking Water System certification.
- OCA Marine Module or Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification.
- Understanding of YMCA Camping Quality Recommended Practices and OCA Standards.
- Competitive salary range of $60,000 - $70,000 per year.
