Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a highly skilled Research and Planning Officer to join its Analytic & Reporting team within Business Intelligence. As a key member of this team, you will provide data analysis and reports in response to complex queries from clients across all levels of Continuing Care in the Edmonton Zone.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with clients to fully understand and define the service/query/information requested
  • Determine the appropriate methodology, data types, and sources to use
  • Complete research and statistical analysis to provide interpretations and recommendations
  • Present findings/information in the format requested
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field (community health sciences, health economics, biomedical statistics, epidemiology, quality assurance)
  • Strong data analysis component in a related field or several years of equivalent experience
  • Required certification or proficiency in EPIC analytic tools and SQL server
  • Minimum five years' experience in the application of information technology, database design, and information management
  • Minimum five years' experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and tools for querying, integrating, analyzing, interpreting, reporting, and disseminating data
  • Minimum three years' related experience in a healthcare environment, ideally with some size and complexity
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CHIM certification an asset
