Position Overview

Are you passionate about providing exceptional nursing care? We are looking for a committed Registered Nurse to enhance our Primary Care Team with a focus on delivering empathetic patient support.

In alignment with Northern Health's vision for an integrated system of services, the Primary Care Nurse (PCN) operates under the standards of professional practice and ethical guidelines set forth by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

The PCN collaborates as part of an interprofessional team, applying best practices to ensure safe, competent, and ethical care for individuals and families in various environments, including clinics, homes, schools, and community settings.

The role involves clinical follow-up based on the individual’s Primary Care Plan and personal care objectives, contributing to care plans developed in partnership with the interprofessional team.


Work Schedule: Days - 08:30 to 16:30 rotating

Compensation:
The new wage is: $55.91/hour

Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience:
  • Current registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN.
  • Three years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience in primary care and/or chronic disease management, including experience in patient education.
  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Assessment and Intervention: Proven ability to conduct initial and ongoing assessments and deliver nursing care through appropriate interventions.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills with clients, families, the public, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Person and Family-Centered Care: Commitment to promoting care that respects the needs and preferences of individuals and their families.
  • Educational Skills: Knowledge of adult learning principles to educate patients and families on health-related topics.
