NCC stands as the foremost non-governmental organization in Canada committed to land conservation. As a charitable entity, we collaborate with individuals, Indigenous communities, corporations, governmental bodies, and other non-profits to safeguard our most treasured natural resources and implement nature-based solutions. Our approach is rooted in collaboration and evidence, driving our mission forward. Since our inception in 1962, NCC and its partners have successfully conserved over 15 million hectares across the country.
The Regional Vice President for Saskatchewan will oversee NCC's operations within the province, ensuring effective leadership and management.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Regional Vice President (RVP) will play a pivotal role on the Senior Management Team (SLT) and the Operations Leadership Team (OLT), collaborating closely with a Regional Advisory Board. The RVP will provide strategic direction and leadership to all regional staff and operational initiatives, aligning with NCC's organizational goals in Saskatchewan.
In partnership with senior operational leaders and a diverse range of stakeholders, the RVP will utilize advanced interpersonal skills to convey a compelling vision that inspires enthusiasm and commitment to NCC's mission. The role involves enhancing NCC's visibility and engagement with major donors, partners, and the conservation community to ensure sustained growth in Saskatchewan.
With a strong focus on practical implementation of thought leadership, the RVP will manage a budget of approximately $12 million and lead a team of around 30 employees. Building and nurturing relationships with various partners, including Indigenous Peoples, government entities, community organizations, volunteers, donors, and supporters, will be essential for the ongoing success and sustainability of NCC's strategic priorities.
This position offers flexibility for remote or hybrid work arrangements from a major urban center in Saskatchewan and will require travel to NCC regional offices and other locations as necessary.
The RVP will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and evaluating operational outcomes within the broader context of NCC's mission. They will translate strategic objectives into actionable plans across multiple platforms and channels. As a change agent and inspirational leader, the RVP will embody NCC's commitment to equity and inclusion, ensuring that our actions and partnerships reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement annual strategies to ensure high-impact conservation initiatives in Saskatchewan.
- Position NCC for sustained growth by enhancing its profile among major donors and partners.
- Foster a unified messaging approach across the Saskatchewan team to maintain a consistent brand identity.
- Collaborate with senior staff to create and execute annual regional business plans aligned with NCC's strategic goals.
- Oversee conservation planning and reporting to ensure the protection of significant natural areas.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to promote key NCC initiatives.
- Build strategic relationships to identify growth and collaboration opportunities.
- Actively fundraise for operational needs and conservation projects.
Public and Government Relations
- Develop broad public support for natural diversity protection in Saskatchewan.
- Collaborate with government agencies to further NCC's mission.
- Lead outreach efforts to engage potential supporters and the public.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on operational delivery.

- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
- A relevant undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector is advantageous.
