Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Education Assistant at Grandma's House Day Care Ltd., you will play a vital role in nurturing and developing young children. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at fostering a safe and engaging environment for infants and toddlers.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is mandatory.
Work Environment

This position is situated within a child care centre, where you will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Engage children through storytelling and creative activities.
  • Support early childhood educators in implementing programs that enhance children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Encourage artistic expression through various media, including art, music, and dramatic play.
  • Guide children in developing healthy habits related to eating, dressing, and toileting.
  • Prepare snacks and organize spaces for meals and rest periods.
  • Understand and adhere to licensing regulations.
  • Establish and maintain guidelines for appropriate behavior.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and any challenges.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for children.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) certification.
  • Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2) certification.
  • Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification.
Safety and Security
  • Basic security clearance is required.
  • A criminal record check must be completed.
  • Immunization records are necessary.
Physical and Personal Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and engage in physically demanding activities.

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, with a minimum of 1 month and up to 7 months of relevant experience.

This is a permanent position requiring approximately 30 hours of work per week, with English as the primary language of communication.
