Manager, Model Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to join our Risk Modeling and Analytics team at Scotiabank. As a Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of risk modeling experts in developing advanced risk prediction and loss estimation forecasting models.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of risk modeling experts in developing and maintaining advanced risk prediction and loss estimation forecasting models
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal partners to understand business requirements and translate them into model development
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of credit risk models, scorecards, and regulatory requirements
- Work with big data platforms and integration tools to develop and deploy models
- Ensure model performance and governance, and provide high-quality documentation and communication to stakeholders
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field
- 2+ years of experience in analytic roles developing and using predictive, risk, and/or forecasting models
- Strong fundamental understanding of statistics and programming languages (Python, R, SAS, etc.)
- Experience with big data platforms and integration tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Avro)
- Knowledge of credit risk models and scorecards
- Proficient reading, writing, and speaking Spanish
- Experience with credit risk forecasting and/or financial reporting frameworks
- Experience working within loss forecasting, AIRB, or IFRS9 frameworks
- Domain expertise with retail and small business banking products and/or risk management practices
- FRM, CFA credentials
