About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Model Development Specialist to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Risk Management department, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced risk prediction and loss estimation forecasting models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex statistical models to predict credit risk and estimate losses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to design and implement data visualization and reporting tools
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Lead and mentor a team of risk modeling experts to achieve business objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in risk modeling and analytics
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SAS
  • Experience with big data platforms and integration
  • Knowledge of credit risk models and scorecards
