Job Title: Landscaping Supervisor

GDB Landscaping Ltd. is seeking a skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our outdoor workforce, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of grounds maintenance and landscape construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of 5-10 people, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for regular grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, and weeding.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Create detailed estimates for labour and materials required for projects, ensuring accurate budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of outdoor structures, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate and supervise the installation of plants, trees, and other landscape features.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring it remains in good working order.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure necessary materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Identify and address work-related issues, providing guidance and recommendations to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures, ensuring smooth project execution.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Outdoor work environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
