Job Description: Assistant Project Manager - Natural Environment Conservation

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager for our Natural Environment Conservation division. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting project managers in the planning, execution, and delivery of impactful conservation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support to project managers throughout all stages of project development, including outreach and stakeholder engagement for identifying new protection opportunities.
  • Prepare essential project deliverables, such as documentation and reports, specifically tailored for property acquisitions.
  • Assist in meticulous scheduling and timeline management, ensuring projects adhere to deadlines and milestones.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain accurate accountability records and track expenses effectively.
  • Contribute to the development of compelling grant proposals and service offers, securing funding for vital conservation initiatives.
  • Take an active role in administrative tasks related to projects, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflows.
  • Craft clear and concise reports and communication materials to keep stakeholders informed about project progress and outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough inventories of properties targeted for acquisition, gathering essential data for informed decision-making.
  • Embrace a proactive approach by undertaking any additional tasks assigned to support the overall success of conservation projects.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant specialization is highly desirable.
  • Have at least two years of experience in natural resource management (an asset).
  • Demonstrate proven experience in grant applications and project coordination.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle for travel.
  • Exhibit a high level of autonomy, initiative, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
