The RoleThe Payroll Implementation Manager position is an individual contributor role that plays a vital part in the success of John Hancock Retirement. This role involves overseeing the onboarding of the payroll process and establishing payroll interfaces with John Hancock's Enterprise/TRS platform. The focus is on facilitating the finalization and transition of implementation payrolls to the online payroll tool and the active payroll team.
Responsibilities Include:- Establishing and managing relationships with clients and their payroll providers to create a payroll feed, set up payroll interface recordkeeping systems, and verify the integrity of test files during conversion.
- Collaborating with internal teams during the conversion process, including Project Managers, Sales, Relationship Management, and Client Services.
- Participating in both internal and external conversion project team meetings.
- Addressing escalated payroll plans and issues that may affect the implementation timeline, ensuring resolution before transitioning to the active payroll team.
- Processing payrolls and serving as the primary payroll contact for clients who have not yet transitioned to the active payroll administration team.
- Taking on project management responsibilities and overseeing changes in the active plan payroll provider.
- Engaging in training to remain updated on system and product enhancements, as well as process changes or improvements.
- Assisting in the development and management of procedures.
- Completing new plan setups on the recordkeeping platform may also be part of the responsibilities.
- Experience in US Retirement, Implementation, Payroll Operations, or Client Service.
- Project Management experience is essential.
- A university degree or relevant experience is required.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Adaptability to technology is crucial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail resulting in high-quality work is necessary.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce, and AWD is advantageous.
