About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Financial Services Delivery Branch. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll for a client base of unionized and non-unionized employees. You will ensure that all transactions comply with Government and Departmental policies and procedures, providing direction, responding to inquiries, and resolving discrepancies to ensure all clients receive service in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple demands and meet strict deadlines
  • Provide exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills
  • Communicate complex payroll issues, best practices, procedures, and government regulations
  • Diplomatically deal with clients and effectively manage difficult client engagements
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Four years directly related payroll experience
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute
  • Experience working in a complex union and non-unionized payroll environment
