Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our Magnum Cementing Services team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining compactor units, skid-steers, and other heavy equipment. You will also be expected to perform shop maintenance, support the infrastructure business, and assist with getting crews ready to mobilize.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate compactors and skid-steers competently and perform all required maintenance.
  • Assist with getting crews ready to mobilize.
  • Support the progression of Labourers through hands-on training and development.
  • Understand and assist with running water lines, bulk operation, chaining down the equipment for transport, and location clean up.
  • Keep the shop and yard clean, including floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and wash bay.
  • Put parts and tools away in identified storage locations.
  • Assist with cleaning, maintaining, spotting, and working on equipment.
  • Perform laundry duties and ensure cleaned items are put away in their designated areas.
  • Extract soil samples accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license (non-graduated) with a clean driver's record.
  • Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
  • Willing to support other business lines in the off-season.
  • Able to work long hours on a 15 days on, 6 days off schedule, including overtime and travel up to two weeks at a time.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Worked in a similar environment (shop sites, remote locations).
  • Interest in getting a Class 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) license and progressing within the organization.
  • Familiar with operating and maintaining equipment.
  • Desire to learn.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.
  • Understands the importance of safety.
  • Team player and customer service focused.
  • Demonstrated initiative and results-oriented.
Assets
  • Previous experience in the infrastructure or oil and gas industry.
  • Possesses safety tickets.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform maintenance on trucks.
