Job Summary:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive procurement and material management standards, policies, and procedures for Challenger Motor Freight Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's requirements.
- Manage the procurement process, including requests for proposals, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to optimize procurement requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with key suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
- Review and analyze existing contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility and alignment with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on sourcing and purchasing processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement management.
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in a large distribution company.
- Diploma or certification in a related field, such as finance, business, or accounting.
- SCMP designation (Supply Chain Management Professional) considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to lead by example and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
