Position Overview:
We are in search of a Project Management Specialist. This role will collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams to generate precise estimates and quotes. Upon securing a contract or sales order, the specialist will ensure the efficient delivery of projects to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive, accurate, and timely estimates and quotations for significant projects and assist in effective tender submissions as necessary.
- Interpret and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and details.
- Provide estimates, material take-offs, and adjustments to sales orders, as well as track contract progress.
- Support clients in defining design parameters as required.
- Compile detailed estimates of components needed by the client to facilitate timely workflow coordination among internal teams.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a digital tracking system for the status of each major project inquiry, quotation, or work order.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of estimating experience, ideally within the electrical contracting sector.
- At least 5 years of hands-on contracting experience (commercial and/or industrial) prior to transitioning into estimating.
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting plans and conducting necessary take-offs.
Within the First 3 Months, You Will:
- Complete the Atkore immersion program.
- Understand how your role contributes to Atkore's strategic objectives.
- Familiarize yourself with your team dynamics.
- Gain insight into the training materials and procedures your team manages.
Within 6 Months, You Will:
- Enhance your understanding of the project management process.
- Establish relationships with various clients.
- Acquire a solid grasp of the sales process.
Within 12 Months, You Will:
- Effectively support engineering and sales initiatives.
- Assist with tender submissions.
- Comprehend drawings and perform take-offs proficiently.
- Contribute to Atkore's sales efforts across the organization.
