Director of Operations

The Director of Operations for Fantasyland Hotel is responsible for leading and developing the operational activities of the hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn, ensuring the highest level of quality services are provided to guests at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide leadership and operational guidance to management teams in areas such as Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage departments.
  2. Develop and implement operational standards, quality assurance inspections, and guest satisfaction programs.
  3. Take a hands-on approach to assist hotel departments when required and ensure smooth operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  4. Lead by example as a customer service-focused presence on the floor, setting the standard for hospitality service to guests.
  5. Provide hotel industry input on new operational initiatives and create business plans to achieve desired results.
  6. Assist the General Manager with escalation issues related to customer service concerns, employee relations, and quality control measures.
  7. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure hotel security, human resources, and IT standards are adhered to.
  8. Review financial reports and documentation to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of seven to ten years of experience in a senior hotel management position in a large volume high-end hotel or resort property.
  2. Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Hospitality and Management or a related field.
  3. Outstanding leadership, team building, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong financial and revenue management experience, with a working knowledge of Hotel Rooms Division and Food and Beverage operations.
  5. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create a quality hotel experience for guests and build a motivated team.
Terms of Employment:

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.

This is a salaried position, with compensation based on experience and qualifications.

This position qualifies for the 4-day workweek program.

A basic security clearance is required.
