Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Legal Advisor to join our Compliance sector at Banque Nationale du Canada. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert interpretations and advice on screening activities and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure effective compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex compliance challenges.
  • Lead governance activities for international sanctions screening and regulatory reporting to FINTRAC.
  • Represent the Bank on industry committees and participate in internal committees that require a high level of expertise.
Requirements
  • University degree in law and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in financial crime management, compliance, and/or risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of anti-money laundering and international sanctions activities.
