Job Title: Chief Legal Advisor

As a Chief Legal Advisor at Banque Nationale du Canada, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. This position requires a strong understanding of financial crime management, compliance, and risk management principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert interpretations of screening activities and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop a vision for international sanctions screening and regulatory reporting activities, in collaboration with senior management.
  • Lead governance activities for international sanctions screening and regulatory reporting to FINTRAC.
  • Present to management the statutes on the state of risks, the issues, the incidents, and the mitigation measures to be implemented.
Requirements:
  • University degree in law.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial crime management, compliance, and/or risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of anti-money laundering and international sanctions activities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
